Course Details
In this fully video-based course, Japanese teishin master Takahiro Funamizu describes some of his gentle treatment protocols for a variety of mental-emotional conditions such as depression, anxiety, PTSD, and schizophrenia. Participants will learn how to cultivate qi in their own bodies, as well as the best means to bring qi into their patients' bodies and smoothly distribute it. Funamizu also details the use and care of various teishin.

In this course:

- Participants will learn gentle means to treat a variety of mental-emotional conditions
- Participants will learn how to cultivate qi in their own bodies, and how to best introduce qi into their patients, and how to subsequently distribute that qi in a gentle manner
- Participants will learn various teishin techniques for gently treating a wide array of mental-emotional conditions
- Participants will learn which teishin are most suitable for which tasks, and how to best care for teishin

Around the world in the AOM community there is a growing recognition of the power of a gentle approach to treatment, particularly in the case of mental-emotional conditions, including PTSD, anxiety, and depression. Takahiro Funamizu Sensei is a young leader of this "renaissance of the gentle" with his beautiful and effective teishin (Chinese: dizhen) techniques.

Professionally, Takahiro Funamizu Sensei has been practicing for over two decades, and teaches seminars around the world. He is the author of numerous academic articles on using acupuncture and moxibustion in cases of trauma. Academically he has served on the faculty and as Chairman of several colleges in Tokyo, including at the Department of East Asian Medicine at Tokyo Academy of Medical and Social Welfare. He has a Master's degree in Health Sciences of Mind and Body from University of Human Arts and Sciences in Tokyo, and holds licenses in Acupuncture, Moxibustion, and Amma/Shiatsu Massage in Japan.
